For over five decades, Gananoque Nursery School has been a trusted part of our community—supporting families and providing young children with a caring, engaging environment to begin their educational journey. Since opening our doors in 1971, we’ve helped children in Gananoque grow, build friendships, gain confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
At GNS, we believe that every child is a capable and curious learner. Our play-based programs are designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving through hands-on activities and imaginative play. We offer a balanced approach to early learning that supports each child’s individual development while promoting collaboration and social connection.
We are proud to maintain a low educator-to-child ratio (1:8), allowing our qualified Early Childhood Educators to build meaningful relationships with each child and provide the personal attention they need to thrive. Children are guided at their own pace in a warm, inclusive, and safe environment.
Gananoque Nursery School is licensed by the Ministry of Education and offers programming for children aged 30 months to 4 years. Our daily routines include a variety of activities that nurture emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development—laying a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond.
We also embrace Ontario’s early years framework, How Does Learning Happen?, and align our practices with the four foundations of Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression—recognizing that these are essential to every child’s healthy growth.
